Spray Foam Insulation comes in many forms and can prove to be difficult when choosing an environmentally safer product. Some spray-foam insulations that are made or based from petroleum products should be avoided at all costs. Cellulose-based materials use wood and plant
fiber. If used from sustainable materials like corn husks,
cellulose-based foam can be a cheap and environmentally sound
building material.
Another environmentally conscience act that spray-foam insulation
users lack to address is known as "over shave". As spray-foam
insulation reacts, it expands. After it dries it must be cut flush
to the studs. This over shave can become a messy nightmare very
